What’s Going On

My summer is coming to an end.

This summer has been a lot of ups and downs, a lot of growing and changing, and all those other cliches. It was my first summer (or any time for that matter) living in Boston. I love it. I love my roommates. I love my friends. The city of Boston is amazing. I can’t imagine living anywhere else right now.

I got involved with a local music blog this summer called Allston Pudding. You might find it’s name familiar as it is a link on the right side of my blog. I have written two reviews and done some photos for one show. The first was Cibo Matto which was so much fun. They are amazing live! The second was Bon Iver where my mind was BLOWN to a whole new level. I took photos for Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, and they came out great. The review is also great, so make sure to read it. This Friday, I will be interviewing Jenny Owen Youngs for them and also covering her show opening up for Motion City Soundtrack. It’s going to be so much fun, and I can’t wait.

I got a chance to really work on my photography this summer, and it’s been a great learning experience. I hope something can come out of it. I’ve already gotten my stuff posted by Allison Weiss on her Tumblr haha.

I started a Graphic Design Certificate program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. I took my first graphic design course this summer. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about design. I will never look at an advertisement the same way again haha. Next week I start my next class for the program, Intermediate Web Design. Hopefully I won’t die, since I haven’t done HTML extensively for a while.

This summer I interned at Likeable Media as a Buzz Builder. It was a great experience. I learned social media like I’ve never social media-ed before. I met so many great friends who I hope to keep up with (let’s do this guys). I’ve made great connections for the future (Bentley would be proud). I really don’t want it to end!

I start up a new internship next week at Gemvara doing videography and other media stuff. It sounds like it will be amazing, and I can’t wait. Let’s hope the positive vibes of the summer keep going into the fall. Let’s make this the best fall yet!
